The Muizenberg Bowling Club, established on 17 September 1917, is situated in the heart of Muizenberg, a prime holiday destination on the False Bay Coast.
It has two greens and unlike many other clubs, which are closed between July and November, weather permitting it caters for bowlers and croquet players all year round.
Visiting players of both sports are always welcome. This includes those who want to keep their eye in when their own greens are closed, and also those who are in the area on holiday. Some of our members migrate like swallows between the UK and Muizenberg every summer. We also welcome social members who are able to use the facilities which include the club house with its fully-stocked bar with genuine club prices, pool table, TV and braai area.
Bowls and croquet are games of skill, not physical strength, so it is possible for teenagers and pensioners, men and women, to play together in a team, or to oppose each other.Even if you have never played either of these games before, why not come and give it a try?
Except when playing in competitions, when we dress in white, the only essential is to wear flat-soled shoes. We can always loan you equipment – and would love to teach you how to play either game and share the fun and light exercise we enjoy.
